Residents must obtain permits for property improvements, events, and sales to ensure compliance with city regulations, encourage safety for our community, and to promote transparency and accountability in our planning and development processes.

Residential permit information and applications are available in our Construction Packet. Please keep in mind that Residential Building Permits may take up to 7 to 10 business days to process.

Need to Register your Address for 911 - Emergency Services?
Registered address are served in the Rice City Limits and ETJ. All other addresses must register with the Navarro County Sheriff's Office.

GARAGE SALES
Garage sales may not last longer than 3 consecutive days. Any signs must be re-moved within 24 hours following the sale. Signs not timely removed may be cause for a citation to be issued.
EVENTS, PARADES, AND LARGE GATHERINGS
If you are hosting a large event or gathering (in the City limits), or would like to have a parade, you must request a permit. Please return your application 30 DAYS BEFORE YOUR EVENT DATE.
